CUSTOM DECK REMODELING & RESURFACING

One of our deck experts will come to your home to take measurements and discuss your vision for the project. We’ll recommend the best approach based on your vision, the condition of the deck, and your budget. Once you’ve decided to move forward with us, we’ll get to work by transforming your deck into the space you’ve always wanted.

Depending on the condition of your deck structure, it may not be a good idea to resurface it. We won’t resurface a deck if the frame is more than 10 years old, or if it isn’t in good shape.

A deck is as strong as its weakest component. It’s not a good long-term investment to construct a new, more sturdy top layer on a weak foundation.

Putting a composite product that lasts 20-50 years on a structure that won’t last half as long is a waste of your money. In this case, we would recommend starting from scratch with a new deck build.

This number will vary depending on the materials used and the elements that your deck is exposed to. For example, a well-constructed PVC deck can last for over 50 years without repairs, while a wood deck may only last 10-15 years. No matter what type of deck you have, we highly recommend doing yearly inspections as a safety measure to make sure your deck is safe and sound.

The cost of resurfacing your deck will depend on the size of the deck, the materials used, and the components it has (such as railings and stairs). On average, it can cost around $12,000 to $15,000 to resurface a 12×12 deck.

Resurfacing a deck can take about a week, depending on the size. Contact us today to see how far out we are scheduling.

If your deck is in need of a serious overhaul, we can replace your stairs and railings.

However, we have a minimum of $15,000 per project. If you’re looking for a small repair or only want to add new stairs and railings, your project may not reach the minimum to qualify.

EZE BREEZE & SCREEN ROOMS

The cost of your enclosure or screened patio will depend on the size and complexity of the project. Our team will work with you to create a custom solution that fits your budget and satisfies your needs. To give you an idea, the average cost of our screen rooms ranges from $15,000 – $35,000. Three Season Rooms can range from $20,000 – $45,000.

It takes one of our crews around 2-3 weeks to build one of these beauties, including the roof and walls. 4-5 weeks if you build the room first and then custom order the screens for the exact size of the openings.

It takes around 4-5 weeks to build an Eze Breeze room, including the walls, roof, and windows.

Three Season rooms are made with vinyl panels that can be closed or opened to let in a breeze. Screen rooms have screen walls that keep insects away, but they cannot be adjusted to control airflow.

Screen rooms are made with screens instead of glass panels. This makes them more affordable and easier to install. They also offer more ventilation than standard sunrooms.

Yes! Our rooms are constructed with durable aluminum frames that withstand harsh weather conditions. The framing comes with a lifetime warranty. The screens and movable parts have shorter warranties and eventually need to be repaired or replaced.

PORCH DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION

A well-designed and built porch can boost your home’s curb appeal and add value to your property. Porches made with man-made materials are low maintenance and highly durable, making them a smarter long-term investment than wooden porches. If you decide to sell your property, potential buyers may see more value if you have a durable porch that won’t deteriorate quickly.

The time frame for building a porch varies depending on the size and complexity of the design. Our experienced porch builders can typically have your new porch ready in 1-2 months.

The cost of building a porch varies depending on the materials used, the size of the project, and other factors. If you hire us to do the job, you can expect to spend somewhere between $25,000-$35,000 for a 12×12 porch with a deck.

Open porches are cheaper to build than their enclosed counterparts because they require fewer materials and labor. If you’re looking to save on costs, an open porch might be the most cost-effective option.

If you’re unsure about which one to choose, think about what you’ll be using the space for. A screened porch feels more like being outside, whereas a sunroom feels more like an extension of your home’s interior.

Screened porches tend to stay cooler because the screens allow for more air circulation, while sunrooms tend to be warmer because they’re fully enclosed. However, some sunrooms let you control airflow by having retractable windows or sliding panels.

During the winter, it is hard to keep a screened porch warm. You can use an outdoor heater, but be prepared for less than warm nights during winter.

Sunrooms offer a more enclosed and protected space, but they can still get chilly in the winter. You will need some sort of heating system to keep your sunroom warm all 4 seasons.

OUTDOOR KITCHEN INSTALLATION

This is difficult to answer without knowing more about the project, but in general, you can expect to spend anywhere from $7,500 to $15,000 for an outdoor kitchen. The cost will depend on the size and complexity of the kitchen as well as the materials used.

Yes. We have a minimum of $15,000 for any project we undertake. This means that if you are looking to have a small project done, such as a simple pergola or outdoor kitchen, you may not reach the minimum. If you’re looking to build a new deck with it, you will most certainly reach the minimum.

Although we can’t speak for every home, in general, an outdoor kitchen can add quite a bit of value. Important factors that affect value include the size and features of your outdoor cooking area, the quality of materials used, and the overall design of your outdoor living space. If you get a stand-alone grilling station that doesn’t complement the rest of your space, don’t expect to see huge returns. If your outdoor kitchen project includes countertops, a covered dining space, and amenities such as a sink, you can expect a much higher return.

One of the benefits of having an outdoor kitchen is that you don’t have to worry about making a mess indoors. However, you will still need to take some basic steps to keep your kitchen clean. First, wipe and rinse the stainless steel surfaces regularly to remove dirt and grease. Second, depending on the materials used in your kitchen, you may need to seal them every few years to protect against weather damage. Natural stone materials, for example, need to be sealed annually. If you have natural stone countertops, make sure to keep them sealed at all times.

It’s a good idea to have some kind of cover for your kitchen. This will help protect your investment and keep your kitchen in tip-top shape for years to come.

With proper care, an outdoor kitchen can last for up to 50 years. We use only the highest quality materials, so you can be confident that your kitchen will withstand the elements and continue to look great for decades. Our experts will let you know if you have to take any particular steps to care for your kitchen, such as sealing natural stone countertops.

OUTDOOR PERGOLAS & SHADE STRUCTURES

Yes, a pergola adds value to your home. It can also make your home a more enjoyable place by providing shade and privacy. You can’t put a price tag on all those shaded moments in your backyard with your family.

Okay, let’s face reality. Happiness is priceless, but there is a cost to enjoying the perfect backyard oasis. Legacy Decks makes sure you only make this investment once – as your pergola will be built to last for generations. The average cost of our pergolas ranges from $4,000-$15,000 depending on the size, materials, and style of your project.

The more complex or large your project is, the more it is going to cost. The size of your project, as well as the materials and style you choose, will all be factors in the final cost.

It depends on the material used to construct the shade structure. Under strong wind conditions, natural wood pergolas can be at risk for damage. At Legacy Decks, we install aluminum pergolas that withstand winds of up to 175mph, so you’ll have nothing to worry about if you live in Upstate South Carolina. The wind won’t be anything to worry about, just a pleasurable breeze.

Yes! In fact, we often recommend it. To build a pergola on an existing deck, modifications to the deck may need to be made to support the weight of the pergola and give it strength. That’s why we recommend getting your pergola when you get your deck, as our team can help you plan for this from the start.

DECK PLANTERS & BENCHES

Decking lasts longer when it’s not in direct contact with dirt and moisture. If you get deck planters, make sure that the water can drain out properly, so it doesn’t sit on the surface of your decking. If you want to reduce the risk of staining your deck, consider opting for hanging deck railing planters.

However, damage from planters is unlikely with our decking, as we use the most durable and water-resistant decking products on the market.

Wooden deck planters are the least safe option, as they can rot and attract pests. They can be very heavy, so it’s important to make sure that they’re properly secured if they’re hanging on your deck railing.

Metal and plastic planters are much lighter, making them safer to use on your deck. They’re also less likely to rot, which means they won’t suddenly drop and fall if they’re hanging.

Most deck benches are about 18-20 inches tall. This is a comfortable height for most people, and it allows you to easily get in and out of the bench. If your family wants a different height, that’s not a problem – we can customize the benches to be the perfect size for you.

From herbs to flowers, many small plants will do well in a deck rail box planter. Some people even grow vegetables, but we recommend using your deck planters for decoration unless you know what you’re doing.

When designing your outdoor living space, we will recommend many beautiful species of plants and flowers that you can grow in your planter boxes, depending on their size.

Generally speaking, the best time to plant flowers is spring, a few weeks after the last frost date. However, South Carolina is an incredible place to plant flowers. There are many annual flowers that grow pretty much year round here!
